Talk To Me an exhibition at MOMA
Whether openly and actively or in subtle, subliminal ways, things talk to us. Tangible and intangible, and at all scales—from the spoon to the city, the government, and the Web, and from buildings to communities, social networks, systems, and artificial worlds—things communicate. They do not all speak up: some use text, diagrams, visual interfaces, or even scent and temperature: others just keep us company in eloquent silence.

Framestore is the largest visual effects and computer animation studio in Europe, with over 20 years of experience in digital film and video technology.
Jon Turner of Framestore will be giving a short talk to Digital Media students on Tuesday 1st November at 2pm in the DMP base room (the one with the booths).
This will be particularly interesting to our current Level 6 students and offer information about Framestores recent occupancy in the Enterprise Pavilion and the opportunities they have created for graduates.

Due to issues with coach bookings we have decided to put the London trip back by one week to the 28th October. We will be departing from the University Bus Stop at 8.30 am and returning by approx 8.30 pm. We will be going to the Victoria & Albert Museum to see the exhibition of Post Modernism. We will also visit the Science Museum next door to look at a piece called ‘Listening Post’.
Places will be limited for the coach so please sign up on your class list to ensure a place. Entrance to the Post Modernism exhibition is by ticket only at a cost of £3.00 payable in advance.

Community Core Vision, CCV for short (aka tbeta), is a open source/cross-platform solution for computer vision and machine sensing. It takes an video input stream and outputs tracking data (e.g. coordinates and blob size) and events (e.g. finger down, moved and released) that are used in building multi-touch applications. CCV can interface with various web cameras and video devices as well as connect to various TUIO/OSC/XML enabled applications and supports many multi-touch lighting techniques including: FTIR, DI, DSI, and LLP with expansion planned for the future vision applications (custom modules/filters).
